Camp Sussex will undergo many changes within the next two years before the re-opening in 2008. A new structure will be implemented transforming the camp into a sports themed camp for underprivileged kids. The camp will involve several prominent athletes and highlight a very strong focus on sports as a vehicle to succeed.

Dear Friends of Camp Sussex,

Over the course of time, Camp Sussex, like many charitable organizations, has found it more and more difficult to raise the funds necessary to sustain operations. In recent years the Camp has be unable to attract sufficient private donations to fill the void left by evaporating governmental funds. To make matters worse, the reduction in governmental support for charitable organizations has created additional competition among such organizations for private donations.

For several years now the Camp has been operating at a significant deficit, which it can no longer afford to do. In order to stretch whatever funds were available to provide our services to children of need, the Camp has forsaken necessary capital improvements and renovations. This is a situation that the Camp can no longer ignore.
